Clayton Whitehill (1898 - 1963) was active/lived in Pennsylvania / Italy.  Clayton Whitehill is known for Painting.

From Ancestry Library Edition census data, we know that Clayton Sandburg Whitehill was a naturalized citizen born in Hungary on March 5th 1898, married at 29, and was a WWI veteran. By 1900 (age 2) he was living in Philadelphia. The 1900 census disagrees with the later ones, saying that he was born in Philadelphia.

His mother tongue was German, as was that of his parents.  Of course, given the state of Europe, one source might say Hungary, another Austria.  His father, Ed, was Austro-Hungarian, German-speaking and a dealer in retail furniture.  His mother Amelia was born in Pennsylvania (her parents were both German).

He was an instructor at the Pennsylvania Museum and School of Industrial Art.
